  Free Minibus Service

  • Mini Buses are available on arrival to take you to your Hotels, they also pick you up to take you to & from the Venue. No reason to bring your own transport, saving you the expense of the Ferry. MINI BUSES MEET ALL FERRIES FROM (1300hrs) 1PM

  Travel Suggestions To Get to Bute Festival

  • Easily accessible from the Central Belt, Bute can be accessed via the Wemyss Bay - Rothesay route (30 minute crossing) or via  Colintraive - Rhubodach service (5 minute crossing) from the Cowal Peninsula

 Ferries. Ferry operator Caledonian MacBrayne run a service every 45 minutes. (see timetable). There is no need to book your sailing but you must obtain a ticket prior to boarding.

 

 By Road. Wemyss Bay can be reached by following the M8 west from Glasgow, joining the A78 at Greenock. This takes approximately 45 mins. You can also come up the Ayrshire coast from the south, via Largs, if you are travelling north from England via Carlisle it's easier and quicker to use the A74 north to Glasgow and join the M8 west.

 By Train (Glasgow Central - Wemyss Bay) Trains run regularly and takes approx 50 mins

 By Plane (arr. Glasgow Airport) Take a 5 minute taxi ride to Paisley (Gilmour Street Station) and join the train to Wemyss Bay. Trains run regularly and takes approx 40 mins.

 

Once you arrive on the Island you cannot help but admire the exotic palm trees and award winning Esplanade Gardens. SEE PHOTOs
